Perfect Game!

Ami McQueary pitched well in defeat. She threw 6 innings, scattered 5 hits, struck out 5, and walked none.

Game Three
Lady Rascals 9 - Shockers 5

The Shockers couldn't muster enough offense against Cleek's Lady Rascals from Morris, Il. While the Shockers had 8 hits and scored 5 runs and Jenny Linders hit a home run they came up short.

The Rascals scored 9 runs. Danielle Garnett did a credible job striking out 6 and allowing only 5 hits, but did yield a triple and a home run among that total. The Shockers defense committed 2 errors to allow the Rascals 6 unearned runs.

This game concluded Pool Play. The Shockers were 1-2 and finished third in their pool.

Single Elimination - Sunday 6/29

Game Four
Shockers 8 - Hurricanes 0

The Shockers drew the Hurricanes, from Glenesco, Il as their first opponent in the single elimination phase of the tourney. Everything seemed to click for the Shockers as Becky Rhyne threw a shut out and the offense had 10 hits and the Shockers won easily 8-0

Becky gave up only 3 hits and struck out 9 in her fine effort.

On offense, 3 of the 10 Shockers hits were triples. Heather Gapinski scored a run and drove in 2 to go with her three bagger. Danielle Garnett and Suzie Ekaitis each had a single and an RBI in addition to their triples.

Game Five
Rattlers 7 - Shockers 6

The Shockers were eliminated from the MCI by the Indiana Rattlers in spite of a 9 hit, 6 run game.

The Shockers were down 5-1 after 4 innings. They scored 4 runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game. In the inning they had 4 hits and a walk. Jorie Flores drove in 1 run with a double and Danielle Garnett drove in the other 3 with a triple. The Shockers held the Rattlers in the bottom half of the inning. Since the time limit had expired, the seventh inning was played under tie-breaker rules.

In the top of the seventh the Shockers failed to sacrifice the tie-break runner to third with a bunt. But Casey Stephens got her there with a one out single and Jenny Linders drove in the run with a sacrifice fly. Going into the bottom of the seventh; Shockers 6 - Rattlers 5.

The Rattlers weren't done and after a fielders choice allowed their first hitter to reach base safely they had two singles to drive in both runners and win the game.
